Celebrating Good Work at The Good Hotel

May 2018

East End Community Foundation hosted their Philanthropy Club event at the Good Hotel London yesterday. ‘Stay good, do good’ being the motto of this floating hotel, there could not be a more befitting venue to celebrate EECFs inspiring £1million success milestone – the perfect place to say thank you to everyone for all their good work in 2017.

Chair of EECF, Howard Dawber opened the event. “As chair, I am very proud of EECF”, Howard said raising a toast to EECFs massive achievement of £1million in grants awarded last year. “Corporate donors and individuals can stay confident that if you work with EECF, we will turbo charge your money to make a real difference in the East End.” said Howard as he welcomed new members to the Philanthropy Club.

Howard thanked all the members for their generous contributions and support throughout the year. “When we spot a project that needs a bit of nurturing, we help them. We make sure that they get the funds they need to achieve the outcomes that could benefit the local people and the local community,” he added. He was joined by Tracey Walsh, Chief Executive of EECF in congratulating the team for their hard work and continued devotion in fulfilling this vision.

Praveen Joynathsing from Lyxor Asset Management said, “I am glad to be selected as one of the trustees of EECF. It’s a very well-run organisation and I am greatly moved by the causes they fund and the impact they make is tremendous.”

We were also delighted to be joined by Ollie Summer, who ran the 2018 London Marathon last month, decked up in a Spiderman costume to raise funds for EECF. “I always enjoy running. I choose to support local community charity instead of massive charitable organisations.” said Ollie.
