Bronek joined the Board as Chair in November 2021. He was elected Sheriff of the City of London in June 2023 and is Alderman of Billingsgate Ward, a position he has held since January 2019. Bronek served as Hiscox Group CEO until December 2021 when he retired after a career spanning 28 years with the insurance company. He previously worked for McKinsey & Company, served as a Deputy Chairman of Lloyd’s and Chairman of Lloyd’s Tercentenary Research Foundation. He is also Chair of Placing Platform Limited, which moved the London insurance market to an electronic trading platform.

Katherine has lived and worked in East London for 20 years. In joining the board of EECF, Katherine wanted to bring her knowledge and experience to bear in supporting the communities around her. Katherine is a qualified lawyer and has experience working in several financial services institutions. Currently she is responsible for the governance and running of AXA's commercial insurance business in the UK. In her spare time, Katherine loves spending time with her daughter, family and friends.

Rick is Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets, Membership and Events at AFME. He is on AFME’s Senior Management Team and leads staff in fixed income, equities and sustainable finance initiatives, as well as overseeing membership relations, and over 30 annual events. Rick held a variety of senior product origination positions at FGIC, HSBC, Bear Stearns, UBS, Morgan Stanley and Freddie Mac. Rick’s goal is to raise awareness of EECF’s funding needs and charitable leadership among AFME’s members, many of whom have their UK headquarters in Canary Wharf and the City.

Jim is a Partner in the Banking and Finance practice at Clifford Chance and specialises in all areas of corporate banking work covering a wide range of financing in both the UK and Europe. Having previously lived and studied in the East End and now being based in Canary Wharf for work, Jim feels strongly about helping others and supporting the area where he spends so much of his time.

Shah has been active in the community from a very young age. He got involved with local charities and became a young peoples' representative at the age of just 15. Shah is a co-founder of the Limehouse Boxing Academy which is based in Tower Hamlets. He also runs a social enterprise (DoLittle Events) that trains and supports people into employment, particularly in the events industry.

Both boroughs are special places for him and deserve to flourish and prosper especially given the hardship that many local people have to deal with. Babu currently manages a wide range of community services for a local housing association.

Guy Nicholson is a Councillor in the London Borough of Hackney whose role includes strategic regeneration, cross Borough partnerships and the Councils relationship with local businesses. He led for Hackney on the 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games and its legacy, the London Thames Gateway initiative and town centre regeneration that includes Shoreditch, Dalston, Hackney Central and Hackney Wick.

Alkhad has lived and worked in Tower Hamlets almost all his life. He is a proud father to two young sons. For twelve years he worked as Sports Development Officer in New City College. He then took the role as Youth Leader for South Poplar & Limehouse Action for Secure Housing (SPLASH). He has developed the Charity into an inter-generational service enabling projects which encourage elders and young people to work together for their mutual benefit. He also leads on a digital inclusion project in the Poplar area. He has years of experience as a professional community worker.

Laurence is Executive Vice President of Northern Trust and Head of its Global Fund Services, which provides global custody, depositary, fund administration and investment operations outsourcing services to asset management clients of the bank. Laurence joined Northern Trust in April 2011 and has led the growth and development of the Global Fund Services business, both in the UK and on a regional and global basis. Prior to joining Northern Trust, he spent over 15 years in Senior Management and Board Positions in two FTSE organisations. Laurence has held regulated positions in the UK, Ireland, Jersey and Guernsey, and sits on several financial services industry committees.

Catherine is a financial services professional by background and an elected member (Common Councillor) of the City of London Corporation. She was the City’s Chair of Policy & Resources 2017 – 2022, leading on its financial and professional services sector work and its links with London government. Catherine has long involvement in education, is on the Council at City, University of London, a City of London Academies Trust trustee, and was involved with The City Academy, Hackney, from its founding. She chaired the Guildhall School of Music & Drama board of governors, and the Barbican Arts Centre board, encouraging community engagement.

Tim is Founder and Partner in the executive careers transition coaching business, Milestones. He has had a 30+ year career in the City, predominantly in people related roles in coaching, recruitment and management consultancy. His last full-time role was as Chief of Staff for an investment firm. Having brought up his family in London, he is passionate about everything the city has to offer but equally committed to extending opportunity to all. He volunteered for ten years with the junior section of his local rugby club and saw first hand the power of helping people to help themselves.

She was introduced to EECF some time ago as it was one of her firm’s preferred charities. Wendy’s family roots are in the East End and in Newham and so the scope and value of EECF’s work resonated with her.

Adrian spent the whole of his career working for a community based housing association in Tower Hamlets, becoming involved with EECF (IDCF as it then was) in 1999. Adrian was a member of the Board of the Tower Hamlets Local Strategic Partnership from its start until his retirement in 2010. As well as legal training and qualification, Adrian brings a lot of experience of charity governance, church and youth work, inner city community development & regeneration and work with isolated older people. Adrian has also pounded the streets of Tower Hamlets in 10 London marathons.

Sister Christine is involved with local charities Neighbours in Poplar and SPLASH and is focused on older people issues and housing needs in areas of social deprivation.
