Individual giving

Individual giving creates lasting change in East London

Whether you’re new to philanthropy or a seasoned donor, individual giving can make a real difference in East London. There are lots of ways to get involved – from regular donations and taking part in challenge events to setting up your own fund to support the causes you care about. Explore how you can join us and help create lasting change in the community.

Join East End Giving

East End Giving is more than just a donation – it is a powerful pooled fund that supports communities across Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Newham, and beyond. When you join as a Friend or Member, you become part of a vibrant network of like-minded people all committed to driving long-term, positive change together.

Every donation is split: 50% supports urgent needs through our Life Chances campaign, while 50% builds the East End Giving endowment to secure the future. With Gift Aid, every pound you give goes 100% directly to charity.

To celebrate our 35th anniversary, we’re matching 100% of all donations from new Members who contribute over £1,000 this year. Watch our video below to find out more.

For personal donations of £5,000 and over, we provide tailored support to help you make an even bigger impact – without the need to set up your own charitable fund.

Set Up Your Charitable Fund

Setting up a charitable fund with EECF is a straight-forward way to achieve your personal giving goals and a more streamlined alternative to a private foundation. Starting from £20,000, we will establish your bespoke grants programme – tailored to reflect your social values and the priorities you care about most in the East End.

You can choose to operate your fund as a flow-through fund, where you set an annual budget and top it up each year, or as an endowment, where your capital is invested and the income generated is applied to provide long-term, sustainable support.

Leave a Legacy

Plan a gift in your will to support East London’s future.

Legacy gifts provide vital, lasting support to the East End. Whether it’s a specific amount or a percentage of your estate, legacy giving is a powerful way to create impact beyond your lifetime.

We offer:

Make your giving tax effective

Use our interactive calculator to see how much your donation could be worth with tax relief – helping your gift stretch further and support even more of our work.

As a registered charity, we can also claim Gift Aid, increasing your donation at no extra cost. If you’re a higher-rate taxpayer, you may be able to claim additional tax relief.

Fundraise for us

Taking part in the London Marathon on behalf of EECF is a powerful way to give back while testing your team’s physical and mental resilience. With a route that runs through the heart of the East End, it’s a meaningful way to raise both awareness and funds for the causes we champion, while demonstrating your dedication, endurance, and commitment to social responsibility.

If you’re interested in other challenge events, fundraising opportunities, or have ideas of your own, we’d love to hear from you. We can support you in planning and setting up an activity that aligns with your goals and interests.
