Understanding grants process

Receiving the outcome from an application can take 2-3 months from the grant programme’s application deadline date.
It can take 3-6 weeks for the EECF team to assess all eligible applications received, contact groups with follow-up questions and complete due diligence/document checks.
1. Submit your application and supporting documents online by the deadline
2. EECF Grants Team will complete an assessment of all eligible applications
3. EECF Grants Team may contact you if we need any more information or have any questions
4. EECF Grants Team completes due diligence checks on organisations, including governance, financial position and policies
It can take 3-4 weeks to share grant assessments with the decision-making panel for review, discussion, awarding of available funding and relevant board approval.
5. Assessments are presented to the relevant decision-making panel
6. Decision-making panel will prioritise applications for support within the budget available
7. Panel recommendations are approved by EECF’s Board of Trustees (or the donor)
8. EECF Grants Team will notify you of the outcome of your application
9. Funded groups run their projects and submit relevant monitoring information and/or end of grant reporting
