SWEF Enterprise Fund

Fund Priorities: The SWEF Enterprise Fund exists to support young people (aged 18-30) who cannot afford to invest in their own businesses or raise money externally. SWEF believes that a successful business can transform the lives of individuals and their families, while also increasing economic activity in their local community. SWEF back young individuals with grant funding and support for their business initiatives.

This grants programme managed by EECF supports young people resident and/or with a business in the East End. For the purposes of this grants programme, the East End is defined as the boroughs of Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets or the City of London. If your business is located elsewhere in the UK, please contact SWEF (https://www.swef.uk/).

Grant amount: A total fund of £10,000 is available for:

  1. Start-up grants up to £500 – for very early-stage/pre-revenue companies
  2. Business grants up to £2,000 – for companies trading less than two years.

After six months, successful Start-up grant recipients can reapply for additional funds up to £1,500 if their business has progressed.

To support this L&Q Foundation and the Haggerston and Kingsland Residents Collective have created a funding programme to support residents of the Haggerston Estate in Hackney, E8.

This Micro Grants Fund is only available to residents and residents’ groups of the Haggerston Estate to set-up and deliver activities directly to support residents of the Estate.
