Winter Appeal

This winter, thousands of older people across the East End are struggling to stay warm, eat well and stay connected. For many, the cost of living crisis has made daily survival a constant battle. In Tower Hamlets, over 61% of older people live in income-deprived households, the highest rate in England. In Hackney, it’s 54.7%, and in Newham, 46.7%, placing all three boroughs among the top three most income-deprived areas in the country for older people. Behind these numbers are real people, grandparents, neighbours and lifelong East Enders, facing another winter of impossible choices. Thanks to the generosity of our corporate partners and the incredible support of our community, we’ve already made a huge difference.
