Charles Berry has worked as a London based specialist credit and political risk insurance (CPRI) broker since 1974 when the market was then in its infancy. He began his career with Hogg Robinson, before co-founding Berry Palmer & Lyle Ltd (BPL) in 1983. BPL serves major multinational corporations, banks and financial institutions. BPL’s portfolio of policies placed with private CPRI insurers exceeds USD 80 billion of current limits, comprising mainly medium and long term (MLT) and emerging market risk. It has its own offices in London, Paris, New York, Geneva, Singapore and Hong Kong. Charles Berry is a past President of the Insurance Institute of London (IIL) and sits on the Board of the London and International Insurance Brokers’ Association (LIIBA). He has a Masters degree from Oxford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School and is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute
